The Silent Cinema Blogathon has officially come to a close. This is my third time hosting a blogathon and I must say that even though the event proved to be a success, it didn’t warrant the response that I had anticipated. When I first announced the blogathon last month I had a plethora of bloggers registering, but on the day of the event not all of those people sent in their submissions, and for anybody who has hosted a blogathon you would know how annoying and frustrating it is.
For all those bloggers that did coalesce together to celebrate that magical bygone era of film known as the silent period, I would like to say a big thank you. During the course of the past few days I have received an array of fabulous entries detailing all aspects of silent cinema. I must say that each and every one of you brought silent film back to life.
I would also like to say thank you to my friend Lauren Champkin, my co-host during this event. Lauren is new to the world of blogging, but she has served as a great partner. Thank you Lauren for being a wonderful co-host. You done a commendable job.
