ANNOUNCING THE JOAN CRAWFORD BLOGATHON

I vowed not to announce anymore blogathons until my ‘Second Annual Barrymore Trilogy Blogathon’ concludes in August, but when the opportunity arose and a very special person brought the idea forward to me about hosting a blogathon dedicated to Joan Crawford, I just couldn’t resist and automatically I had to jump on the band wagon.

Joan Crawford is and always will be one of my favorite actresses. For years I have been enthralled by her inimitable on-screen performances and enchanted by her numerous charitable work and her amiable persona that she displayed off-screen. Sadly Joan’s stature has been tarnished and overshadowed by Christina Crawford, and her child abuse allegations, which is a shame, because Joan Crawford had an illustrious body of work that unfortunately has been dismissed in recent years.

Usually I only host blogathons dedicated to a specific person on their birthday or death anniversary, but after taking the formidable events that have occurred after Joan’s passing in 1977 into consideration, the idea of hosting a blogathon in Joan’s honor was born. It’s only fair that classic movie enthusiast bloggers coalesce and give Joan her due. She deserves much more than what she has attained in previous years.

BLOGATHON RULES:

1. Bloggers are more than welcome to write about any film or topic relating to Joan’s life and career. However I am not allowing any posts relating to “Mommie Dearest” or the false accusations regarding child abuse. There are a wealth of topics and a plethora of films to choose from without having to take a detour into the negative aspects.

2. Due to Joan’s extensive body of work and a diverse range of topics, I will be allowing no more than three duplicate entries. Usually I only allow two posts on the same subject, but this time I’m going to be fair.

3. The Blogathon will be held on July 28th – 30th, 2016. Please send your posts into me on any one of those days.

4.  To express your interest in participating in the blogathon, leave a comment on my blog, along with the name and URL of your blog, and the subject you wish to cover, or you can always register by email at: carolelombardforever@yahoo.com. For those of you who wish to register by email, please be sure to include the name and URL of your blog along with the topic you wish to cover. Once you get confirmation, please spread the word about this blogathon by advertising the event on your blog. Below are a few banners.
