ANNOUNCING THE THIRD ANNUAL BETTE DAVIS BLOGATHON

It’s that time of year again when the legendary Bette Davis is the celebrated star of my frequent blogathons. With the success of the two previous blogathons, I’ve decided to shine the spotlight on Bette for the third consecutive year.

As we all know, Bette Davis would be celebrating her 110th birthday this April 5th, and what better way is there to celebrate the special occasion than hosting a blogathon?

RULES:

1. Now we all know the drill. Bloggers are welcome to write about anything relating to Bette Davis. There are a wealth of topics available, so the list is endless. As always, I encourage people to be imaginative and think outside the square. Instead of writing about her movies, you might want to provide a detailed analysis on another aspect of her life and career.

2. Because the life of Bette Davis is brimming with stories, I am allowing no more than two duplicates. If you have a topic in mind, act fast.

3. The blogathon commences on Bette’s birthday on April 5th, and finishes on April 7th. On the day of the blogathon I will publish a new post where bloggers can submit their entries. I only ask that you please send me your articles on either of those days or early if you prefer, and I’ll happily promote them.

4. To express your interest in participating in the blogathon, leave a comment on my blog, along with the name and URL of your blog, and the subject you wish to cover, or you can always register by email at: crystalkalyana@yahoo.com. For those of you who wish to register by email, please be sure to include the name and URL of your blog, and the topic you wish to cover. Once you get confirmation, please choose one of the banners and advertise it on your blog. I look forward to seeing you all in April to celebrate all things Bette Davis.

    In response to your comment, this looks like a swell blogathon! I’m strongly considering joining, and I’m contemplating watching and reviewing “Mr. Skeffington,” since I’ve read a lot about it, and it sounds like a great film. I will give you a definite answer after my blogathon is over.

        Speaking of blogathons, I have an idea for a new one in July. I would be honored if you would co-host it with me. It will be called “The Perfect Code Film Blogathon.” I described it briefly at the bottom of the Singing Sweethearts Blogathon roster: https://pureentertainmentpreservationsociety.wordpress.com/2018/02/12/ring-the-assembly-bell-the-singing-sweethearts-blogathon-has-arrived/. Since I want to see if there is interest in the topic before I make banners and publish the official announcement, do you think that you could say something about the idea at the end of your article for the “Singing Sweethearts Blogathon?” You could copy what I said at the bottom of the Singing Sweethearts roster.     I’m afraid that I will not be able to participate in your blogathon. I have actually never seen “Mr. Skeffington,” and, since I don’t have much experience at writing articles, I’m afraid that it would be very hard for me to write about film right after seeing it for the first time.

    I’m sorry that I didn’t contact you sooner, but I’m sure that somebody else will be able to write an article about this great film.

    By the way, do you think that you will be submitting your article on “Naughty Marietta” sometime? I know that you’re very busy, so if you don’t manage to do it, I understand.

    I was wondering if there is still a chance that I could be a part of this blogathon. Basically I haven’t been a part of one before however I would really love to be a part of this one.   34. I’ve just realized that, through sheer coincidence, I’ve unwittingly contributed to this blogathon! A couple of months ago I scheduled a post to appear in the early hours of yesterday morning (which it did) on The Bad Sister (1931), in which Bette starred (her first screen role) alongside the likes of Humphrey Bogart and Sidney Fox.
