About

Hi I’m Crystal,

I’m a classic film enthusiast, and have been passionate about the golden age for years.  Some of my favorite stars include: Joan Bennett, Ethel Barrymore, Bette Davis, Lauren Bacall among others. I have recently completed studies in Freelance Journalism and am now a registered journalist. In addition to all that, I am in the early stages of research for a proposed biography.

  1. From “Movie Movie Blog Blog”: I’m not sure what you mean by “What time comedy are you after?” for the “See You in the ‘Fall’ Blogathon.” It can be a scene or entire TV episode that involved physical comedy. Any time period is fine.

  2. Hi Crystal! I just discovered your blog through The Wonderful World Of Cinema Blog and was thrilled to see another fellow classic film buff :-). I also blog about classic film every Friday (among other things like history, women’s issues, and writing) on my blog Mother Time Musings (http://tammayauthor.com/index.php/blog/) and have a Facebook page for my blog (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mother-Time-Musings-Blog/973527066001474?ref=hl). I write historical mysteries, so history (especially how women fit into it and transcend it) is important to me and classic films has always been a passion of mine.

One thing I have to ask you – where do you find such great pictures to post on your blog from classic films? I have a hard time finding Creative Commons/public domain pictures from classic films, especially the more obscure ones, beyond what I can dig up from Google Images, Flickr, and Wikimedia Commons. Is there a specific place where you can find pics that are not pricey and either CC or PD friendly that I don’t know about?

    Thank you!

    Tam

    1. Hi Tam,

Thanks for reading. Feel free to follow my blog, and I’ll be more than happy to follow yours.

Regarding the pictures, I get most of my pictures from Pinterest, Tumblr or Corbis. For the movie images and screen shots, Yahoo Images I find have the best screen shots. The good thing about these sites is that they are all free. Hopefully that helps.

      Kind regards
      Crystal

    1. Hey Gill. I’m really sorry for not replying to you. I was away, and since I’ve been back I’ve been sick and I haven’t been online, except for Facebook, so I haven’t received any messages from you. I will check though. Thanks for letting me know, and that’s fine. I will put you down for “Gypsy” on the roster. Once again, I’m really sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

      1. Thanks, no problem. Sorry that you’ve been unwell, I had thought that was behind your absence but noticed WP not adding my comments to your page today so wasn’t sure if you were getting my messages to you. Hope you have a lovely birthday!
